With the aim of invigorating foreign investments in the Republic of Guinea-Bissau’s sustainability sector, a forum was held to discuss areas of potential collaboration between the State of Qatar and Guinea Bissau. The occasion kicked off with a visit of the Guinea-Bissau pavilion where fine pieces of traditional craftmanship were showcased coupled with a display of staple produce such as cocoa and a variation of dried fruits. Esteemed guests and the Guinea’s delegation were thereafter ferried to the expo house ‘convention centre to attend the investment forum and partake in a press conference scheduled on the back of the forum discussion.
As a prelude to the forum, the Guinean representative reiterated his government’s unwavering dedication to creating an enabling environment for investors, especially in the sector of sustainability. He also added, “By investing in Guinea-Bissau, you are not only contributing to the growth of your enterprises, but you are also contributing to the growth of a nation that is committed to sustainable practices. We are determined to strike a balance between economic prosperity and environmental stewardship, and we invite you to be a part of this virtuous cycle”. Discussions also touch upon Guinea-Bissau’s recent efforts to streamline regulations, improve infrastructure, and prioritize education and skills development.
The tail end of the forum was marked by a press conference during which attendees and journalists sought to address the different investment opportunities on offer and the areas of collaborations between the State of Qatar and the Republic of Guinea-Bissau.
